The internet media is abuzz with rumour that Hewlett-Packard is shutting down VoodooPC, the gaming PC company which it bought two years ago.
According to Techgage, an internal e-mail circulated in HP, noting that the company was laying off some of the Voodoo employees. Though the exact number of employees to be laid off is still not clear.
VoodooPC has reportedly been returning product to its suppliers, such as Topower, their provider of power supplies. Also, two of VoodooPC's products -- the Omen desktop and Envy notebook -- have not been performing well in the market in terms of sales.
It is also not clear what will the shutdown of VoodooPC mean for the production of HP computers that comprise Voodoo DNA -- like HP Blackbird 002.
In July, HP announced that it was rolling Voodoo brand into its Personal Systems Group, its business unit in charge of making all consumer PCs.
