New method to calculate EAMCET 2009 score and ranks

Here is how the EAMCET final score would be calculated, from which EAMCET 2009 ranks will be generated.

To arrive at the final rank, marks secured in three subjects of EAMCET would be calculated for 75 per cent and they would be added to the 25 per cent equivalent of the marks scored in the core subjects.

For example, if a student scores 140 marks out of 160 in EAMCET, his marks would be obtained by dividing 140 with the multiplication of 160 and 75. It would come to 65.625 marks and this would be added to the 25 per cent equivalent of Intermediate marks obtained using similar formula. Similar procedure would be adopted for CBSE and ICSE marks also.

And also Andhra Pradeshstate.in website says this:

How waitage is calculated in Eamcet:

Eamcet was conducted for 160 marks and 75% waitage shall be given for eamcet. Suppose a candidate get 150 marks in eamcet 200 marks his/her waitage shall be 150/160*75=70.3125 and he/she gets 480 marks out of 600 in main group subjects in intermediate his/her waitage of intermediate marks shall be 480/600*25=20. then his total marks shall be 90.3125 and this is taken into consideration for the award of rank at EAMCET 2009.

Final ranks will be daclared on 22nd of JUNE.
